CINE EUROPE, BARCELONA, SPAIN, JUNE 16TH 2025 — Cinema Technology Community (CTC), the world’s largest not-for-profit independent trade organisation continues to soar to new heights having recently reached the landmark of growing its community to more than 1,000 cinema professionals across 87 countries.
Since its relaunch in 2017, CTC has focused on providing impartial education and knowledge-sharing to the global cinema industry. The organisation has become widely respected for providing accessible and practical content to the sector whilst removing the typical barriers and boundaries often associated with industry trade bodies such as membership fees, ensuring that CTC can share content with cinema professionals regardless of budgetary constraints.
Commenting on the news, Richard Mitchell, President of CTC said “Our focus today remains the same as it was eight years ago, to provide easy-to-access learning opportunities in various different formats to help support the cinema industry. Our global leadership team has always maintained that sharing knowledge and best practices supports the sector in driving better outcomes for movie-goers which in turn plays a part in growing both box office revenue and admissions. Over the past eight years, CTC has created a significant number of deliverables and the engagement level of our community is at an all-time high with the vast majority of our members regularly interacting with our content.”
Over the past eight years CTC has created an extensive body of work including:-
14 white papers
2 handbook guides
16 “In The Pub” podcast episodes
27 hours of video content
6 training courses
5 networking events at CineEurope
2 global digital networking events
Broadcast room test materials for event cinema (in stereo, 5.1 and 7.1)
Supported industry events in Turkey, Brazil, India, Norway, Belgium, Spain and the UK
Championed diversity and inclusion
Offered impartial advice to exhibitors transitioning from xenon to laser projection
In September 2022, CTC acquired Cinema Technology Magazine, the industry’s only business and technology journal again widening the scope of CTC. Under its stewardship, the organisation has seen the publication continue to thrive with a diversified focus around technology including laser projection, digital marketing, cybersecurity, frictionless retail and artificial intelligence expanding its readership both online and in print across new territories.
“CTC continues to be the go-to resource for cinema professionals around the world. We are incredible grateful to our sponsors and supporting members who provide us with the essential funds to be able to create the educational resources the industry requires. We are incredibly thankful to our volunteer team of technology experts (past and present) that give their time willingly and we look forward to supporting the industry for many years to come,” explains Richard Mitchell, President of CTC.
